Bank Committee: January 15th 1934

 

The General Manager reported that Mr Frank Wilde had been approached as to the flat accommodation at the Acocks Green Branch being used by an official of the Prudential Assurance Company as an office. Mr Wilde advised that in this event the rental required for the premises should be £50 per annum.

 

5030   RESOLVED:- That, subject to no objection being made thereto by the Gas Department, who are responsible for rent under the present arrangements be made for the letting of the Acocks Green Flat to the Prudential Assurance Company as an office, at a rental of £50 per annum plus rates and internal repairs; also that the Town Clerk be instructed to prepare and fix the Corporate Seal to any necessary documents.

Negotiations with the Prudential Insurance Co having fallen through, this flat to be let to Mr R J Hartill for a period of 3 years at a rental of £40 per annum. The tenant to be responsible for rates and internal repairs.

Tenancy of Acocks Green Flat.

 

Your Sub-Committee report that the tenant of the above-mentioned flat is in arrear with his rent and the Town Clerk has been instructed to take the necessary steps to recover the arrears and if necessary to obtain possession of the premises.

With reference to the paragraph in the foregoing report as to the arrears of rent owing by the tenant in respect of the Acocks Green flat the General Manager reported that the tenant had offered to pay £10 (the amount of the arrears) by the end of the month.

 

5350  RESOLVED:- That this offer be accepted but that, failing this payment being made, the Town Clerk be instructed to take steps to recover the arrears of rent owing by the tenant of the Acocks Green flat.

 

Bank Committee: April 15th 1935

 

On Minute No 5350 the Town Clerk submitted the following report as to the payment of arrears of rent from the tenant of the Acock's Green flat:

 

The arrears of rent due from Mr R J Hartill in respect of his tenancy of the Acocks Green Flat have now been paid and I accordingly ask for this Minute to be discharged.

 

5398   RESOLVED:- That Minute No 5350 be discharged.

Your Sub-Committee report that arrangements have been made for the letting of the undermentioned flat:

 

Acocks Green: A H Wayne - £35 for a period of 1 year and then quarterly, the tenant to be responsible for internal repairs.

Your Sub-Committee report that the following tender has been accepted for outside painting work:

The General Manager reported that Miss H C Lawless, of 36, Clarence Road, Moseley, had expressed her willingness to become the tenant of the Acocks Green flat at the present rental of £35 per annum, with responsibility for rates and interior repairs, and that Mr Frank Wilde (the Bank's Agent) had recommended the present tenancy with Mr A H Wayne being cancelled as from the 24th June, and the new tenancy with Miss Lawless for one year certain being entered into from that date. The references submitted by Miss Lawless being satisfactory, it was:

 

5696   RESOLVED:- That the tenancy agreement with Mr Wayne be determined as from the 24th June, and a tenancy agreement be entered into with Miss H C Lawless from the said date on the terms set forth shown and that the Town Clerk be instructed to prepare any necessary documents, affixing the Corporate Seal thereto if required.

The General Manager reported that arrangements had been made for the letting of the Acocks Green Branch flat to Frederick Walter Lee of 76, Oxford Road, Acocks Green, for one year certain and determinable thereafter by quarterly notice, at a rental of £35 per annum, tenant paying rates and water charges.

 

Town Clerk's Report dated 27th July 1939

 

Minute No: 6488

 

I have to report that in accordance with the above Minute I have completed an Agreement with Mr F W Lee, for tenancy of the flat at the Acocks Green branch, for one year certain and thereafter quarterly, at £35 per annum.
