Bearwood Branch:
November 3rd 1919 - November 11th 1922
(continued)
All eight accounts opened on November 12th are transferred from Head Office branch. Seven of these eight accounts are transfers from
the former Birmingham Corporation Savings Bank (BCSB), and are annotated 'OB' for Old Bank. As the BCSB capitalised interest on a
half-yearly basis, it was necessary for an adjustment to be made to the value of interest transferred - the transferred value having
been calculated to September 30th 1919 an addition to cover the period October 1st 1919 to March 31st 1920 was required. Total new
balances amounted to £148. 3s. 0d.
November 14th also has eight new accounts, but only one is an in-transfer (from Head Office) the remaining seven being cash deposits.
Total new balances amount to £105. 17s. 1d.
The next day of opening is Monday, November 17th. Six cash deposits were received totalling £87. 15s. 0d., the remaining six accounts
were transfers - one each from Harborne and Rotton Park branches, and four from BCSB. These transfers from the former bank (in
contrast to the similar account noted above) are dated September 1st representing the true date that accounts were transferred from
the old bank to the new one. The total transferred from all three sources amounted to £213. 2s. 10d.
