On Minute No 2287 the following tenders were received and opened for the required alterations at the Balsall Heath branch:

The attention of the Committee was called to the fact that only two tenderers (Mr H Morgan and E M Squire) had agreed to the time limit of five months inserted in the General Conditions for execution of the work. In view of the fact that Mr E M Squire had executed previous contracts for the Bank in a satisfactory manner and that this Contractor had been put to some expense in connection with the Bordesley Green contract which was cancelled, it was:
2292 RESOLVED:- That the tender of Mr E M Squire at the sum of £2,500 for the carrying out of the required alterations at the Balsall Heath Branch (Nos 526 and 528, Moseley Road) be accepted, and that the Town Clerk be instructed to enter into the necessary contract, affixing the Corporate Seal thereto.

On Minute No 2292, the Town Clerk presented the following report with reference to the completion and sealing of a contract with Mr E M Squire for the carrying out of alterations and additions at No 526 and 528 Moseley Road:
Moseley Road Premises.
I beg to report that I have prepared, completed, and affixed the Corporate Seal to the contract with Mr E M Squire in respect of carrying out alterations and additions at Nos 526-528 Moseley Road.
I ask that the Minute be discharged.

Finance Sub-Committee: March 14th 1927
With regard to the Moseley Road Contract, the Town Clerk had been authorised to accept the sureties of Messrs J C Lewis and J E Rowley, both of Waterloo Street, Birmingham.

The Sub-Committee were informed that the Town Clerk had been instructed by the Chairman of the General Committee to enter into an Agreement with Messrs J Harris & Sons for an easement rent in respect of a light from a window overlooking the Bank's property at the Balsall Heath Branch premises and also in respect of the projection of a cornice. The yearly payment of 5/- had been agreed upon plus legal costs, stamp duty, and Surveyor's charges.
132 RESOLVED:- That the action taken in the matter be confirmed.

2800 The following report of the Finance Sub-Committee was presented:
Easement Rent - Balsall Heath Premises.
The Town Clerk has been instructed by the Chairman to enter into an agreement with Messrs J Harris and Sons, for an Easement rent in respect of a light from a window overlooking the Bank's property, and also in respect of the projection of a cornice.
A yearly payment of 5/- has been agreed plus the legal costs, stamp duty and Surveyor's charges.
Your Committee recommend that the action of the Chairman be approved.
2807 RESOLVED:- That the action of the Chairman in authorising the Town Clerk to enter into and, if necessary, affix the Corporate Seal to an Agreement with Messrs J Harris & Sons for an easement rent at the Balsall Heath premises, as indicated in the foregoing report be confirmed.

On Minute No 2807 the following report of the Town Clerk was submitted with reference to the completion of an easement agreement with Sir Barry V Jackson:

No 524 Moseley Road.
I have to report with reference to the above Minute that on the preparation of the draft Agreement with Messrs J Harris & Sons, with regard to the window opened by them overlooking, and the cornice overhanging, the property of the Corporation, it was found that Messrs Harris & Sons were only the tenants of the property, the Freeholder being Sir Barry V Jackson. The Agreement has, therefore, been entered into between Sir Barry Jackson and the Corporation giving him access of light and air to the window and the permission to continue the overhanging cornice, subject to the payment to the Corporation of 5/- per annum as an acknowledgement, and subject also to the right of either party to determine the Agreement on 6 months' notice.
2872 RESOLVED:- That Minute No 2807 be discharged.
General Purposes Sub-Committee: December 10th 1928
On Minute No 1320, the General Manager presented the following report with regard to the available use of land and buildings purchased for branch bank purposes:

The General Manager reported as to the action proposed to be taken to remedy the dampness in premises adjoining the Balsall Heath Branch and flooding in the heating chamber at the Stirchley Branch. It was:

Bank Committee: May 27th 1935
The Committee were informed that arrangements had been made for the flat at the Balsall Heath Branch to be let to Miss M Meacham of 369, Moseley Road, for a period of one year certain at a rental of £35 per annum, the tenant to be responsible for rates and internal repairs.
